At the annual Apple Event, Apple unveiled its latest pro-grade smartphones: the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Here’s a quick overview of the new flagship lineup:

1. iPhone 15 – 6.1-inch display

2. iPhone 15 Plus – 6.7-inch display

3. iPhone 15 Pro – 6.1-inch display

4. iPhone 15 Pro Max – 6.7-inch display

While the overall design remains familiar with two glass panels and a metal frame, there are notable refinements. The Pro models now feature a titanium frame with a brushed finish, providing both durability and a sleek appearance. Additionally, thinner bezels make the iPhone 15 Pro slightly smaller than its predecessor.

An exciting change is the introduction of the Action Button, replacing the mute toggle switch, offering haptic feedback and increased customization options.

Powering the iPhone 15 Pro is Apple’s new A17 Pro chip, a 3-nanometer powerhouse with 19 billion transistors, improved CPU and GPU performance, and a 16-core Neural Engine.

The camera system receives significant upgrades, especially on the iPhone 15 Pro Max, with a new telephoto camera offering 5x zoom. The wide and ultrawide cameras on both models also see improvements, including Spatial Video capture, better portrait photos, Night Mode enhancements, and the ability to switch between three focal lengths.

Furthermore, the second-generation Ultra Wideband chip enhances Precision Finding on Find My, making location sharing easier.

The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max are available in four finishes: black titanium, white titanium, blue titanium, and natural titanium, adopting a simplified naming convention.

Anticipated availability for all iPhone 15 models in Sri Lanka is expected by the end of September 2023.
